United States Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) Community Tree Evaluation guidelines were used for evaluating all trees for risk and defects. Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) is given in centimeters while species ID is listed in Latin abbreviations.
Data Collected
Long Island Site1-A occupies a residential area in Sandy Springs, GA. The trees at this site appeared to be relatively healthy, with some minor defects such as weak branch unions.
Visual Biological Survey
The wildlife observed in and around the stream are frogs, ground skinks, and mockingbirds. There was also evidence of rabbits and squirrels. However, due to the ephemeral nature of the stream, fish, aquatic plants, and algae cannot survive at this location.
